The Parameter Requirements for Protective Masks

Protective face mask is a kind of labor protection equipment used to protect eyes and face from dust, chemical substances, hot air, poison gas and splash and other harmful substances, it can be used together with anti-dust mask, dust mask and working cap, to achieve comprehensive protection effect.

According to the use of application, protective masks can be divided into welding mask, safety mask, mask, gas mask and radiation mask.

According to the different types, it can be divided into safety type (Products to protect the eyes from solid or liquid harmful objects) and shading type (Protect the eyes from harmful radiation).

1.The appearance

Standards：Mask appearance should be smooth, no bubbles, no burrs, no affecting air tightness defects. 

2.Eye observation window

Standards：See the object as real and have protection facilities；The transmittance of the lens should be＞85%；The lens should not be broken when tested under specified condition.

3.The vision

Large eyes windows requirements：the overall view＞65%，binocular field＞55%，lower visual field＞35%.

Binocular window requirements：the overall view＞65%，binocular field＞55%，lower visual field＞35%.

4.The actual dead cavity

Large eyes windows requirements：＜250 ml，when there is a dustproof respirator cover inside，the actual dead cavity should be＜180ml。

Binocular window requirements：＜280 ml，when there is a dustproof respirator cover inside，the actual dead实cavity should be＜180ml。

5.The air leakage factor

Standards：＜0.005%。

6.The assembly tightness

Standards：The decrease of internal pressure value is not greater than 50Pa in 1 min。

7.Mask resistance to air flow - breathing valve resistance

Standards：＜100Pa。

8.Mask resistance to air flow - suction resistance

Standards：＜40.0Pa。

9.Aging property of mask exhale valve

Aging Properties：After aging at (100±2) ℃ for 8h, there is no stickiness and deformation. Test environment temperature：（17—30）℃；Relative humidity：＜75%。

10.Mask breathing valve air tightness

Standards：≤590Pa；Test environment temperature：（17—30）℃；Relative humidity：＜75%

11.Air exhausting pipe

Standards：Air tightness should be good when the pressure in the airway is 2.0+ 0.1kpa，the airway should have good elasticity of expansion and contraction，airflow should be unobstructed when bending to 180°，the length of the airway should be greater than 60cm。

12.Mask integral-component bonding strength

Pipe-type：＞147N，direct-type：＞49N。
