which is better to choose for a safety helmet, FRP or ABS?

Now in many industries, the application of safety helmet is more extensive, because safety helmet is very important for head protection.  However, the safety helmet materials on the market are mainly divided into fiberglass, ABS and PE, among which fiberglass and ABS are the most popular materials.  Therefore, when buying safety helmet, it is difficult to choose fiberglass or ABS.

FRP, also known as FRP, is a fiber reinforced composite plastic, according to the difference of the composite materials used, can also be divided into glass fiber reinforced composite plastic (GFRP), carbon fiber reinforced composite plastic (CFRP), boron fiber reinforced composite plastic.  The safety helmet made of glass fiber reinforced plastic has the advantages of high strength, good heat resistance, good electrical insulation, but also has excellent acid resistance, water resistance and flame resistant, encounter pressure, will not easily deformation.  

ABS is A combination of acrylonitrile (A), butadiene (B) and styrene (S), one of the five major plastics.  If the safety helmet is made of ABS, it is not only heat resistant, high surface hardness, size stability, good chemical resistance, and electrical insulation, temperature and humidity changes will not affect the safety helmet, and water, inorganic salts, alkali and acid and other substances will not react. 

The above is the difference between FRP safety helmet and ABS. In fact, in life, we mainly decide according to the application environment of safety helmet.  For example, ABS safety helmet is not resistant to combustion and low temperature, but its toughness is good impact resistance, so it can not be used in some low temperature or combustion risk operating environment, only suitable for mining, machinery industry and other high impact strength, and normal temperature operating environment.  On the contrary, FRP safety helmet is more suitable for use in some special operation occasions, metallurgical high-temperature operation, oil field drilling, cold area construction and so on.
