The material of insulation suit is Polyamide coated fabric. The function is to protect the fire fighter when do the hot-line work.

1.The function of the insulation suit

The Insulation suit plays an auxiliary insulation role in live operation of distribution line, act as the backup protection tool for personal safety. The insulation suit should contain high breakdown voltage, certain mechanical strength, and wear resistance, tear resistance function.

2.The type of insulation suit

The insulation suit has three grades: class 0, class 1 and class 2. Class 0 can be used for 0.4 rated voltage, Class 1 for 3KV rated voltage and Class 2 for 10KV rated voltage

3.The technical date

（1）The outer surface material should have the characteristics of hydrophobic performance, moisture-proof performance, high flash-over voltage and small leakage current along the surface, as well as certain mechanical strength, wear resistance and tear resistance. The lining material should have high insulation strength, can have the effect of main insulation, and hydrophobic, good softness, high layer to breakdown voltage. In addition, the lining material should also be soft, good performance.

4. The feature of the insulation suit

Insulation suit, made of EVA resin material, can be used in the AC 10kV and below voltage level of electrical equipment to carry out live work, to protect workers from electric shock. The product should be tested every six months, and should be carried out in relevant testing institutions.

5. The application area

The insulation equipment of the line mainly refers to two aspects, the first is the equipment of the insulator, the second is to meet the distance between the live metal parts of the insulator hanging place and the tower body after wind deviation. At present, the number of insulators is usually selected according to the creep distance method in China. For UHV lines, the number of insulators is usually more than 50, and the length of insulator string is over 10 meters. In heavily polluted areas, the length of insulator string exceeds 15 meters or even longer, which seriously affects the economy of the line. Considering the improvement of synthetic insulator technology and the accumulation of experience in the use of synthetic insulators in China, the proportion of the use of synthetic insulators in the AC UHV line will be significantly increased.

The relationship between the air gap tolerance operating voltage amplitude and the gap length is a saturation curve. At a clearance length of 6 meters and a pressure resistance of about 1600KV, it enters a very obvious saturation zone. The specific pressure level is related to the clearance shape and pressure level. For the test and demonstration project, the clearance of medium phase V string is 6.5 meters.
